A Review Of The Nintendo Wii

The Wii games console by Nintedo was released back in 2006, a complete breakthrough
in the video gaming industry.

The Wii has great interactive, motion-controlled gameplay instead of the industry’s
standard of a controller, loaded with analog stick and directional buttons. This
new gaming concept makes the Wii a great, attractive games console for the young and old
alike, whereas previous other games consoles were mainly intended for teenage boys
and young men.

The Wii, overall, is a very attractive console. Its white, glossy finish will not fail to
please anyone, and it’s the size of 3 DVD boxes stacked on top of each other. This makes it
one of the smallest games consoles ever made.

The Wii’s controller, the WiiMote, is unique. It’s shaped like a remote control you
would find with a TV, and just has a simple directional keypad and several buttons.
The WiiMote is has a motion sensor built in, which is what makes this console special.
You would’ve thought that the WiiMote would be awkward to handle and use, but in reality
it’s very easy and simplistic.

One of the great things that the WiiMote has is the expansion port. This will connect
to a nunchuk, lightsaber, sword, laser gun, steering wheel, bow, crossbow, tennis racquet
and a heap of other peripherals to enhance the gameplay.

The Wii’s gameplay is simply addictive. The wide range of games goes from family sports games
to intensive action games. The console is a load of fun.

Of course, as is expected, there are several downsides to the Wii, one of which is the quality of
graphics. The Wii’s graphics are similar to those of the PS2, but is not even closely matched
to those of the other next-gen consoles, such as the PS3 Slim and xBox 360. It’s a good thing
that the interactive gameplay compensates for the lack of graphics quality.

Another downside is that the WiiMote eats up the batteries quickly, as could be expected
from a wireless controller. Make sure you use rechargeable batteries for all of the Wii
controllers that you get.

One of the other negatives to the Wii is the fact that the wide range of peripherals do end up
costing quite a lot of money, but if you compare these prices to those of the xBox 360’s addons,
the ones for console are not too expensive.

This all leads to the question; should I get a Wii? The console is priced at a pretty good
170, so it won’t make a massive hole in your wallet. This is predominantly a
family console, great for the old and young alike, and everything in between. If you’re
looking for a console that will bring the family together for some fun, this is the console
for you!

  5. Review by Cheap Nintendo Wii

I think that Nintendo Wii is truly a revolution in the gaming industry. So what if it doesn’t have the compatibility of picture against its competitors. I think by buying the add ons you will provide you family with the ultimate entertainment bundle they have always dreamed off. Do all those features accumulate in its competitors? I guess not because the other day while browsing I stepped on a post which posted that the Xbox Arcade would cost you the double of a Nintendo Wii. It was recorded to be $230. Wow now that’s pricey.

What Do You Think?
